Otto Schmidt Laboratory for Polar and Marine Research

The Otto Schmidt Laboratory is greeting everyone at this difficult time of the pandemic. During the self-isolation period in Russia our team was mainly working from home. But still, we were closely monitoring the safety of previously collected samples and the status of the instruments. For that, we had the opportunity to visit the laboratory in compliance with all safety standards.

We were badly missing the visits of our foreign colleagues, which were cancelled because of the pandemic, but we kept in touch with them and held our meetings online.

We are pleased to announce that starting from July 13th 2020 the Arctic and Antarctic Institute and the laboratory itself are resuming their normal activities. We are now able to continue the lab studies in all of our on-going projects, despite the still-existing ban on international travel.
